Welcome to our Labrador Life!

About Us

I am a 2009 Graduate from the University of Guelph, and I graduated with an Honours in Animal Biology and specialized in genetics and animal nutrition - so breeding healthy companions is dear to my heart.

We offer one of the best companions you can find and are certain you’ll be happy with one of our pups! The pups are home raised, and one litter was even born in my bedroom because Hemi felt that was the most comfortable spot to bring her pups into the world. Dogs are not pets, they are family members, and the most loyal companions you could ask for.

All pups are sold vet checked, vaccinated and dewormed. Parents have sound hips, eyes, and joints; however we suggest monitoring your pups stair climbing and jumping for the first six months to prevent concerns with hip dysplasia. We offer an agreement that the pup is sold as healthy according to veterinary exam; this must be agreed upon by your veterinarian of choice within one week of purchase. If there is any discrepancy, we will absolutely work something out.

Return: Labradors are very dear to my heart, and we never want to see one end up homeless. If at any time you cannot keep your pup (or now adult dog) please return him/her so I may either keep them or re-home them. Please carefully read the below "10 Canine Commandments" and make certain you are ready to provide love to a Labrador for 10-15 years.

Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you again! Check back later for new updates to our website. There’s much more to come!

The "Chocolates" are my family, and that is what makes us stand out from other breeders. My dogs sleep in the house, often in my bed or on the couch. The house and property revolve around the dogs - I choose waterproof & tough floors to accommodate toe nails and potential accidents, and would rather have dog hair than a completely clean house. That's life with several dogs, and we wouldn't have it any other way!

The pups are born in the house, and only at 4 weeks do they enter a "kennel type" setting in our puppy room. They get a lot of socialization from my entire pack, myself and of course from many friends and family.

"I breed Labradors because I want others to find as much joy in this breed as I do. My 'Chocolates' are a gift that I am honoured to have - I want to spread the love."

Why us?

English vs. American Labrador: What is the difference?

Chocolate Labradors from field-bred stock are typically lighter in build and have a shorter coat than show (English) Labradors. There are significant differences between field/sport ("American") and show ("English") lines of Labradors.. Dogs bred for hunting and work are selected first for working ability, where dogs bred to compete in shows are selected for their conformation to the standards and characteristics sought by judges in the show ring.

Head and muzzle appearance: American (far right) Labs have lighter and slightly narrower heads with longer muzzles. English (left and center), showing the shorter muzzle length, more solid appearance head, and "pronounced" stop of the latter. While individual dogs may vary, in general English bred Labradors are heavier built, slightly shorter-bodied, and have a thicker coat and tail. American Labradors are generally longer legged, lighter, and more lithe in build. American Labradors are commonly higher energy and more high-strung compared to the Labrador bred for conformation showing. For this reason, we have chosen to cross an English male with an American female to create the perfect all-around companion; one who has the energy and desire to be a hunting partner, but also one who is an excellent family pet. We also have an English x English Labrador cross which results in a pup who still has potential to be a good working dog; but this line was bred for conformation showing and the pups generally have calmer temperaments.
